East Side Poets 2023/24
A Squilometre project is always created and run
BY local residents, FOR local residents. They don't do it alone, they do it in a "Pod", a group of around 8-12 neighbours who come together in fun and goodwill. And they do it with the support of the Squilometre. If you're interested in the unique heritage and characteristics of the East Side of the Poets (Milton Road, Shakespeare Road/Ave, Spenser Avenue) and you'd like to know more about being in a Pod then we'd love to hear from you ....

Things we've done so far:-
On Sunday 20th December 2020 Residents around Milton Road took advantage of its perfect SW alignment to view the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn. Seen in the sky as a bright "star" this phenomenon won't happen again in our lifetimes. So we took the opportunity to share some mince pies, carols and Christmas cheer whilst viewing the Christmas "star" through binoculars.
March 2022 – Arnie's Sunflowers. We delivered sunflower seeds into all the houses on Milton Road along with an invitation to plant them in front gardens. This summer there were some lovely sunflowers on Milton Road!
Summer 2022 - House histories We've also uncovered some great histories on Milton Road, why not get in touch to find out about your house!
